Wow! We have been a busy group since our last posting. To begin our day yesterday, Dr. Suh took us to the local market in Seoul. It was huge and had every sight and smell imaginable! She took us to a special little store with lots of Korean goodies. So all of our friends and families can be expecting lots of souvenirs!

We then went to Korea University for an Educational Forum. The campus was absolutely beautiful!! Jackie and Duriel did an outstanding job presenting on some of the educational issues facing our schools, specifically concerning bullying, discipline, and family involvement. They were then joined by Sheryl and Karen with several other educators from Korea for an open forum. It was amazing how similar the problems and issues that educators in both countries are facing. We have decided that children from all around the world are pretty much the same.

We concluded the evening with a traditional Korean dinner that was hosted by the University. It was delicious!

Shopping this morning

We are off to do a little souvenier shopping this morning and then to Korea University for our presentations at the Educational Forum. More photos to come. We are having a great time and learning so much. Yeesterday's visit to Ewha Womans University's demonstration Kindergarten was amazing.

Day 1 in Seoul...

well actually it's day 2 but day 1 was arriving on the plane and getting to the hotel.

We had a great day today! We started out the day at Ewha Womans University. Then we visited Ewha Middle School. We had a great meeting with the principal of Ewha Middle School and then headed to lunch. Dr. Oh was our host and came to the hotel to escort us to the University. He was so patient leading us through the subway and all around Seoul. Thank you Dr. Oh!

After Ewha we had a great lunch then headed over to the National Palace Museum of Korea.

The first thing we did at the Palace was take a cooking class. We made bibimbap. It is pretty much fried vegetables and rice but with lots of steps in between.

Our day ended with a birthday celebration for Misty! Happy Birthday Misty! The cake was from a bakery close to the hotel and it was divine!

It's Almost Here!

Last meeting before we depart! This afternoon we will complete the research component and finalize travel plans. I'm sure a few packing questions will arise. Remember to send emergency contact information and medical information to Kelly.
